Annaki
Very seldom does anyone, beast or Horde or being, give Annaki the first glance in this little crowd. She is overshadowed by the massive male Tauren who always stands stoically beside her, or the pale beast who stalks in front of them both, glaring with untamed amber eyes. For a female Tauren she is slight, although that is not particularly diminutive; she stands at only 6'8" and weighs a mere 250 lb. Annaki is muscular but in a lean and almost svelte way, most apparent when she draws back her bow to fire a crude-looking arrow, or signals her pet with one lanky arm to their next target.
Annaki's body looks unnatural in a way not completely apparent at first, although a look at her visible ribs under her skin shows the signs of long malnutrition. She dislikes confining clothing and usually wears the bare minimum for protection and decency. There are numerous scars, some fine lines that have all but disappeared, but others recent and brutal. Most remain camouflaged beneath her short white fur, and the rest can be explained as common hunting scrapes and scratches. The fur itself is soft and almost fluffy, making her appear slightly larger at first glance. Her eyes are sable in colour, and very guarded, although she does not make eye contact unless pressed to do so, or if trying to either intimidate or make a connection.
A closer look at Annaki throughout the years would result in a diagnosis of malnutrition and mistreatment stemming from late childhood to late adolescence, with adequate care given in the years before. As she looks now, she is filling out and gaining weight, but she is not the picture of health. Her hands are rough and calloused, often with layers of dust and debris lined into the crevices. The three fingers of each hand are long and thin, however, they are lined with visible scars through fur which has nearly rubbed off. Her hands are raw in places and look painful, although the heavy scars seem to have long since healed.
She carries an old mining pick and a small knife she uses to gather herbs, both hung on her belt. Along with the dirt ground in her hands, this entwines with her natural earthy scent to build the impression of someone who lives off of and with the land. Depending on the time of day and her recent activities, this may be drowned out by the perfume from flowers and herbs, or drowned out entirely with a metallic tang from gathering ores. Annaki and Rahaith are nomadic and avoid visiting most towns, coming in only to trade or obtain tasks to gain currency. They make sure to be clean and proper while in villages, though; look nice and you might sway the deal in your favour. However, their hygiene takes a fall while in the wilderness for long periods of time, and the male isn't fond of bathing to begin with.
Annaki wears leather garb as befits a hunter, carries a bow – never a gun – and wears whatever accessories will benefit her the most. She dislikes constricting clothing and usually wears a top that bares her midriff, and some variety of shorts or a kilt. Ever present are leather-looking armguards on both forearms, although they do not seem to be a recognizable type of leather.
Annaki has a pleasant mid-range voice with a faint growl-like timbre, increasing depending upon her level of anxiety in a situation. It softens when she speaks to animals or to Rahaith. She often uses small gestures as emphasis when she speaks. These movements will display her mood, growing larger and/or more aggressive as the feelings suit.
Annaki often looks tired and near exhaustion, although Rahaith seldom displays these symptoms of fatigue. When in battle, however, Annaki's shyness and exhaustion disappear and confidence reigns. She is fluid and moves like music when stalking, in perfect harmony with Spectre as they dance with their unknowing prey.
Rahaith
Looking to her brother for protection is an old instinct from adolescence, because now Rahaith is the least likely person to prevent an assault, although he certainly cuts a most imposing figure to a potential abuser. Massive is truly an understatement for this paladin, who towers over nearly everyone he meets, particularly over Annaki. While her scars are fairly noticeable, his are blatant and unapologetic, ranging from old scars acquired in warrior training to a truly horrific slash across his face from left temple to right jaw. His nose has obviously been broken a few times, and the ring through it is dented and scuffed. Despite the scars, his is a physique to envy for many, strong and massively muscular. He is a powerhouse of a man, who reaches heights of roughly 8 feet tall; his weight suits, topping out at 500 lb.
His horns are huge and dominate his head, or at least part of it. The left one is a jagged broken emptiness, backed by a scar on his head which glances off to a faint line on his shoulder unobstructed by his pale russet fur. He has the habit of tilting his head to the horned side slightly, as if the weight pulls that side down.
Strangely enough when compared to Annaki, Rahaith is not malnourished nor shy, standing proudly straight and tall beside his sister, contrasting to her somewhat shy form and bearing. Rahaith looks like he has never missed a meal in his life, and that all the food went straight to his brawny body, feeding the tissue and nurturing this masculine Tauren.
He carries no weapons and wears a strange mixture of cloth and mail clothing, without any accessories at all. His outfit changes at whim, to a pattern only he knows.
Rahaith does not speak, ever, and has a tendency to become lost in his own thoughts and prayers. He dedicated himself to the Earthmother when the centaur captured him, and knows only healing spells, thus the lack of weaponry. He will allow enemies to strike him but will make no move against them, which has resulted in numerous visits to the Spirit Healer. He has pledged to do no harm, and thus he serves as this motley crew's healer and mender, both physically and spiritually. He spends long hours each day motionless, crossing his legs to sit in a meditating stance, and has yet to reveal any part of what passes during this activity to his sister.
Spectre
No one noticing Annaki and Rahaith could fail to notice this large snow-coloured lion guarding them as his own. He was rescued from the centaurs as a kitten at the same time as Rahaith by Annaki, who swept him up on their headlong flight out of the camp. For those who have completed Sergra Darkthorn's quests in Northern Barrens, Spectre evokes Echeyakee's deathly countenance, although he was actually born to a now-eradicated pride in Mulgore. White as the moon and stealthy as night's grasp at twilight, Spectre is a powerful force to behold... and he knows it. He is the showboat of the group, flexing and roaring in public, warning Horde and Alliance of his prowess. He keeps their little family together and safe, their bastion against the world.
Bonus! History Teaser
First Bloodhoof, then Grimrage, and now... nothing; they are bound by bonds of pain, neglect, and cruelty, but most strongly and overpoweringly by familial love.
((Any comments or constructive criticism would be greatly appreciated. I will be posting their history as soon as possible... college application and work permitting ))
((Just wondering... I don't know if I've missed it in my wanderings, but is there a place here to write a behavioural or personality description, or shall that be done through stories and in-game only?))
