She clutched a hand to her heart listening to him. He sounded very genuine. "Elune will forgive you, you'll see. It may take time, but She is always watching, and you'll know when you have atoned. It pains me to hear how you feel, and to know how Mister Shinsay truly must have felt too..."
When he went to look over at her, he found she had silently flown over to his branch and was sitting in front of him her eyes just as shiny as his, her lower lip trembling. She would try to very gently place her little burn scarred hands on either of his cheeks her thumbs ready to wipe at any further tears.
"I'm sorry. I spoke more than I thought I would, but I felt I needed to say all of that to... well, I guess to make sure you knew me. I have no secrets now." he said.
Her voice was soft, full of compassion, "You speak like we only have the night left to live. There is no rush to tell me everything. We just met. You owe me nothing. Nothing." She smiled a bit sniffling, "However, i am very certain Elune very much enjoyed hearing your confession," her head tilted to the side and she took a breath, "Confessing like that is like molting. You shed off all the old feathers that have gotten dull and old and torn and do little to make you look nice or help you fly. And then when you feel most naked and bare, and maybe a little silly depending where the feathers molted out of first," nodding to herself, "that's when you grow new feathers that are all shiny and smooth and perfect and great for to help you really cut through those skies! Through all the new trials ahead! So good for you!"
For the first time her glowing gaze was evenly on his, her long hair brushed back away from her face at least for a couple minutes, the wind making the beads in her braids click together softly. She allowed the eye contact for only a few seconds, but for her to do it at all was meaningful, and she tried to share her strength with him, and to let him know he wasn't alone and that everything would be ok.
Finally the darkness had engulfed them, and she lowered both her eyes, and her hands. The small form of the druidess was still before him, her head bowing slightly to allow tendrils of hair to slide and gather blowing across her face. She listened to his further words and smiled faintly hearing the confidence returning to his voice.
"Sir i would be honored to be at your side, doing whatever i can to help. You can certainly count on me."
