Wolf, known now by many as Griffin, grew up in Lakeshire. Along with his younger brother Grim'un, sister, and their parents. They lived in a small house by the lake. Grim and Griffin's history are virtually identical up to a specific point. This point is where their realities started to diverge, and where the confusion of the two still existing came into play.
In Grim's original existance, Griffin died in a bloody battle against the Orcs who were raiding Lakeshire. In Griffin's reality, it was Grim who was slain. Each obviously handled things very differently, and the differences in the two brothers are very obvious just by having a conversation with them.
Griffin chose the path of a Rogue and mercenary after the battle. Unable to cope with his brother's death, he left home with no intention of ever coming back. He relied on no one but himself, taking jobs where he could, and finding a place within the seedy underbelly of human culture. He thought he had failed his brother, failed his family as a whole, and failed himself. So he forsake his name, and his past. Taking on the code name of Hawk, and doing what he must to survive.
Many bad decisions were made, some worse than others. While Hawk held himself to a slightly stronger code of ethics than your average rogue, he still let himself fall into the vices of the underworld for a time. When money ran tight, he made the worst decision of his life in his opinion.
In a move made strictly for survival, the man joined the Defias Brotherhood. He helped with them quite a lot, mostly through planning raids, and strategic targets to work against as the Defias influence grew within Westfall. Eventually a falling out with a number of the members occurred when Hawk refused to kill a number of farmers who refused to leave their land. When the one in charge of his raiding party threatened him with death himself if he would not carry through with it, Hawk slayed him. This obviously drawing the ire of Edwin VanCleef, and so Hawk left the Defias. Now taking on the code name of Wolf to help cover his tracks. He still carries the cog tattoo of the Defias on the back of his hand, though he inflicted upon himself two scars in the shape of an X upon it to show he no longer worked with them. Normally this is kept hidden by gloves though.
Wolf survived on his own once again, now using Stormwind as a place to earn money, as there was always someone who needed a job done, be it legal or not. He continued on like this for quite some time, barely scraping by, but his instincts and intelligence sharpened by it all. He had gone thorough much, and learned even more in his time now. The most painful part of it though, was always the self loathing he had for failing to protect his younger brother at that battle so long ago.
Things would continue on like this for quite sometime, until finally Wolf ran into a rather peculiar, yet stunningly attractive female in Old Town right before he was about to head into the Pig and Whistle to try and find a job.
And the rest, well such is still being written....
