Now that my character description is finished I thought I would go ahead and start my character background. It has some gaps in it, but this is generally the history of the Blood Knight Iressi.
------------------------
Iressi Sunblessed was born in -230 on a estate near Windrunner Village, the oldest of the three children of Gwynavar, and Morathi Sunblessed. Gwynavar was a priest dedicated to the Light, and the study of history while Morathi herself was a mage devoted to teaching High Elven magic onto others. Like her other siblings they were spoiled, and grew up in a privileged position. Her father joined one of the groups of elven diplomats that helped open up trade with the Wildhammer Dwarves, one of the causes of the War of Three Hammers (though something that would prove to be of benefit to the Alliance during the Second War). This gave her family even more prestige, and wealth.
Unlike her other sisters (Mythravi, and Sorani) she remained in the estate rather than going to study magic in Dalaran. Much to her mothers chagrin she seemed to have no taste for the arcane. Instead at first it seemed that she was going to follow her fathers footsteps, and join the priesthood of the Light. Iressi during this time was very different than she is today, she was a softer woman both emotionally, and physically. She had a weakness for wine and sweets along with beautiful music. She was bathed in luxury as the orcs swept into this world beginning the First War. In truth she was oblivious to that war as many elves were at first.
Her father was one of the diplomats that met with Wildhammer, and humans to discuss the threat of the horde though Iressi knew very little of what was going on at the time. While the First War was going on she found love (or at least she thought she did) in the form of a younger High Elf named Mallos. Mallos was a swordsmen of some skill. A long courtship ensued though it was interrupted by the start of the Second War.
Her father was one of the token force that Anasterian Sunstrider sent to help the alliance though during that war she lost both her love, and her father. Mallos was killed during the campaigns of the Amani in the southern forests of Quel'Thalas while her father died in the campaigns fought in the south. Morathi, and Iressi agreed with most elves that humans were to blame for the burning, and destruction of their forests, and the deaths they suffered.
While Mythravi, and Sorani stayed in Dalaran, Iressi stayed with her mother trying to help her with the depression of losing her husband. Though grief stole Morathi away, in the days before the Third War she killed herself leaving Iressi as the heir to the Sunblessed family. She stayed in her home alone for days, crying to herself, wallowing in self pity.
However the Third War woke her up.
The scourge came forth to the Elfgates, and their weakened armies faced the undead. It was not enough, and in the confusion that came next Iressi managed to escape though she soon felt the pang of loss that came from the destruction of the Sunwell. She barely managed to survive during these days, and this was the final nail in the coffin of the young, sweet girl that she had been. She learned on her own to steal mana from other creatures, and eventually discovered that she was not the only elf still alive.
She was overjoyed at first, and joined in the rebuilding of the city of Silvermoon. Iressi was no supporter of the Alliance, though she spoke out against the proposal to join the horde. She was by that time one of the older elves, and still had bitter memories of the Second War though in the end her vote carried no weight. Her estate was gone, and she had learned at this point of the destruction of the city of Dalaran by the hands of the scourge. She thought that she was the last of the Sunblessed line (though she was wrong in the end).
Iressi was one of the first Blood Knights, though her progress within the group was often very slow, and more than once she was almost kicked out of the group. Her training with the Blood Knights changed her body, and soul. For the first time in her life she gained true power, or at least what she thought was power. With the energies of the corrupted naaru flowing through her she finally achieved the rank of Master within the Blood Knights.
During this time the Blood Elves in Silvermoon traveled to outland to search for Kael'thas to show him what they had managed to rebuild. The betrayal of Kael'thas hit Iressi hard. It made her take a hard look at the Blood Elves, and what they had become.
She didn't like what she saw.
The Blood Elves arrogance had led them on a path that could lead to their destruction. She took vengeance upon Kael'thas both in Tempest Keep, and inside his final retreat. Though it didn't make Iressi feel any better, she likely would have abandoned her place within the Blood Knights when she met a ghost from her past, Mythravi. She had survived the fall of Dalaran, though she was in the company of some strange tauren. Fearing that she had been captured by Grimtotem Iressi attacked him. Though when he didn't fight back Iressi finally stopped, and in time became friends with the tauren Rhome.
While at first she was standoffish towards the warlock that Mythravi had become, Iressi couldn't hide the fact that she was happy to see her. Love won out in the end, and Mythravi helped her overcome some of her grief. Iressi is still not that happy, naive girl that danced in the fields of Quel'Thalas, she is a little older, a little sadder, but a little wiser as well. Iressi joined with the Horde to assault the Lich King in the frozen north, accepting the warming energies of the Sunwell into her heart. While her allegiance to the Blood Knights is strained she still for the time being wears the tabard of a Master of the Blood Knights.
