Before it became known as Outland, Draenor was a lush and vibrant planet, much like Azeroth. The orcs dominated this world in a shamanistic society. Orbus Bloodeye was one such shaman. He was fairly young during the time of the demonic corruption, and as such was easily swayed when Gul'dan, a former shaman, took his followers and became warlocks for their master, Kil'jaeden.
As a warlock, Orbus had changed drastically. He was mean, easy to anger, and his feelings for anything other than power and death seemed to have withered away along with his humanity. While most of this was most likely due to the demonic taint controlling the orcs of Draenor, many believe that Orbus was truly evil. Along with mass murder, Orbus was known for raping his female victims, three of which cases gave him an orc son and daughter, and a half orcen-draenei daughter. The current location and fate of this offsprings are unknown, although it is safe to assume the half breed is still alive, as she cared for Orbus for some time after Draenor was destroyed.
When Draenor was destroyed with the assistance of Ner'zhul's portals, the whiplash of demonic, cosmic, and natural energies sent Orbus into a coma state, one which he wouldn't awaken from for five years.
After five years of care from his halfbreed daughter, Yora, Orbus finally awakened. However, his mind received a brutal beating from demonic energies. Not only was Orbus left in a mentally impaired state, but he had also lost memory of everything that he was before.
Not much is known between his awakening and now. It is known that his daughter had disappeared, leaving Orbus on his own. The sixty-some year old orc ventured along Kalimdor alone until he came across a human priestess within the Swamp of Sorrows, who took him in. She even gave him a new name, Ol' Mawl. However, the orc warlock was left on his own again after the Cataclysm took his human keeper's life.
Currently, Mawl ventures from place to place, living by himself in a tent he sets up himself. He tends to keep his mouth silent, as speaking clearly is a hard task for him, and even though he yearns to speak with people, his lack of ability to keeps him from opening up to people.
