Thousands of role players out there.... in wow alone. On WrA alone.
Not hard to log in, hit Stormwind or some other place and find someone to kill some time with role playing.
However.... with all those people... and that ease of finding someone to kill some time with...
i want to stress, (from my personal experience) how SUPER RARE it is, to find someone you want to keep playing with. All the time. Each and every day. To find someone who shares your ideals on role play, and who cares about their character at least as much as you care about yours... someone who is just as genuine a person as you are.
It's hard.
People will generally come and go... talk the talk, make hollow promises and blow smoke...
But once in a long while you may be so very lucky to find someone who is actually telling the truth. Who isn't playing lip service and saying only what they think you want to hear. Someone who is in it for the long haul and wants to RP with as sincerely.
In my almost 15 years of time playing wow, i have found THREE people like that. Fifteen years. Three sincere, genuine people.
When you find a rare gem like that, hold onto them. Never take them for granted. Be grateful for each role play session. Be grateful and thankful to them for choosing you to play with. Be aware how RARE and special they are.
Each time you login to the game, be open to finding another person like that. Coz you never know when the planets will align and another one may come along. People like that are precious gifts to a role player.

EEEEEEEEEE! This makes my day! Thank you, Lady Kat! I know it's only been a few months, so I intend to prove it beyond the brief sample size!

Kat is very right. I’ll even admit to being less than completely interested in WoW but I’m more than happy to stick around because there’s people here I just can’t see myself letting go of.
I don’t log in with game goals in mind. No thoughts of gear or story or unlocking something, no.
I log in head full of stories to share and thoughts for the handful of people I want to share them with.
A piece of the latest Mythic gear to me is worthless. I’d trade it in a heartbeat for just a simple hour of rp sitting in a seaside tavern sharing a drinj with someone else.

Oh gosh, I agree! I am currently gearing for no other reason than to unlock the capability to RP anywhere a friend wants to RP, even in dungeons. I don't do it to faceroll a dungeon, as Lady Kat mentioned in another old post -- I agree with her; crowd control, playing my class instead of my role, RPing it, even making some /s and /e macros relevant to dungeon combat sounds more appealing. I have relished the post-dungeon RP, too.
Most of all, finding that special someone(s) to dependably, reliably play with, that someone to weave intense TP that makes me reminisce later about it, the one who says or does something that stimulates the emotions and the thought process of, "Ohmigosh, what will happen next!?" These things are like, the diamond on the rough when you find them in Stormwind or wherever. These people are the needle in the haystack. They are invaluable finds. I feel as though I have been panning for gold since April, and finally struck out rich!
