In the world of role-play, it takes at least two to tango. That's true.
Yes, one can write stories alone till the cows come home, but to really role-play, it as is most is in life, always better to have someone to share it with.
It's easy to get wrapped up in our characters, and in turn someone elses. Sometimes... Maybe even the people who play them.
However, there is something that is key, that we all must remember.
Each individual person is responsible for their own happiness. In life, and, in role-play.
Yes, you are responsible for your own happiness.
No one else can guarantee your happiness. Only you can.
When you leave the responsibility in someone else’s hands, then you’ll only become dependent on them. Then, when the inevitable of them leaving happens, you’ll become empty, and lost inside.
The point of your RP partner/s is/are to share happiness. Not to depend on them to make you happy.
If you find yourself relying on others, or blaming others for your unhappiness in RP, you need to stop, and have a reality check.
Happiness is a choice. Don’t let anyone take that away from you. Every time you think negative, come up with double the positive thoughts.
Happiness should not be reactive and extrinsic i.e. based upon and controlled by external stimuli; rather, it should be intrinsic and active, should come from within.
Remember too, in RP there are highs, and lows. There can be no good times, without the bad. Learn to accept them all, and be accountable for your own happiness, and not blame others.
