The petite druidess, Shari'Adune was sitting quietly upon the bank of Lake Elune'ara. Her bare knees were pressed into the water soaked mapping of tree roots and leaves, as were the knuckles of her burn scarred hands. Her wavy ocean green hair was blanketing over her smooth back, thick curtains hanging on either side of her face as if she had moved forward suddenly forgetting about it. About two inches of the tips were floating gently in the water, swaying to the gentle current like sea weed.
Somewhere off to her left was the continuous beat of the waterfall, the sound more white noise to her now then anything else. Bits of spray danced in the air like twinkling diamonds caught in the defused sunlight light of the Glade.
She was staring into the water very intently.
Her face was neutral, then a second later she was smiling as wide as she possibly could, her lips peeled back away from her straight white teeth with her jaw clenched tightly. It looked possibly like someone had told her to say cheese and hold it. That expression however didn't last long either, just a breath, before it dissolved into a close lipped smile that was pulled equally wide across her face, the freckles on her cheeks distorted.
None of these contortions however touched her eyes. Her large, glowing soft silver and gold flecked orbs were as empty as twin voids. She blinked fanning her thick lashes at each new smile appraisingly. Her head tilted slightly from side to side as she stared at her reflection trying each countenance over and over.
"I am doing very well today. Thank you." The words were just as barren as her eyes.
"Yes I am fine."
"I am having a very good day."
"Yes I am ok. Of course."
The smile went out surely as it had been a candle standing against a gust of wind. Her eyes closed and she sighed bowing her head further.
Her nose wrinkled as her body shuddered. That display of emotion was soon just a memory as well, and she confronted her reflection once more, determination shining now in her eyes.
"I'm doing well today, thank you!"
"I'm having a great day!"
"Things are well. Thank you for asking."
The tone had picked up a little more, dusting the words with a light sprinkling of warmth.
The reflection stared back up at her accusingly. She ignored it and spread the toothy grin out again. "I'm fine!"
