Cyr sat on the banks of Quel'Danas, staring absent mindedly out across the water. On the farest shore she could just barely make out the outlines of Quel'Thalas. Oddly, a pang of remorse struck her, bringing with it another wave of exhaustion. She looked down to her hands, which now bore strange little scars from her trip into Un'goro. Besides the already exhausted state she lived in, her body burned.. a side effect from the poisons, she guessed. She shook her head, that damn troll had probably lied to her.. after-all why after almost a month would her body still be burning. With a heavy sigh she flopped over into the sand, her hair sprawling out across the sand around her head. She took a moment to secure the black cloth in her ears before wrapping her arms under her head. It only took a moment before she was quietly snoring into the sand.
The sunset, as her dreams came on.. it was dark, she was back.. there.. the soft rocking motion of the ship beneath her startled her. She tried to ump to her feet, but quickly found out she was bound.. she tumbled over as the footsteps quickly approached the rickety door. Closing her eyes she mumbled.. the demonic flowing off her tongue easily. A flash.. then burning.. she passed out.
Opening her eyes again, she looked around, her flesh burned as if she had awoken in her funeral pyre. But no.. that wasn’t it.. Bright sunlight filtered through the trees, green.. green everywhere. Then brown, and a soothing voice speaking to her in broken common. Big furry arms wrapped around her carefully, coddling her.. her vision faded again..
A deep breath, the smell of.. roasted clefthoof? Her mouth watered as she sat up, rushing out of the shoddy tent she slept in. She pulled back the flaps, bright light blinded her as she rushed through..
Elwynn Forest, the faire.. the Darkmoons.. She heard her name and looked up. A kind tauren face, a big furry paw, waving her over. Her face burned as she blushed but a smile she couldn’t contain lit her face as she ascended the stage. So many faces, faces she didn’t know. Her eyes drifted to the back of the grounds there she could see her family, the unlikely bunch they were. She cleared her throat, and just as she opened her mouth, the bright flash again..
She hopped out of the back of the caravan.. the guards were everywhere. Snix.. the little gnome was pulling on her arm, they had to go, they had to run! She quickly followed the gnome to the small oasis in the barrens. The gnome worked quickly, opening a portal. The guards were coming! The gnome pushed Cyrrin through the portal.
Cyrrin gasped as her face hit the ground.. was that dirt… in her mouth?
She coughed, sitting up, it was well past sundown. She leaned forward, spitting out the sand she had managed to inhale. Coughing a few more times to clear her throat, she finally relaxed, leaning back on her palms she let her head flop back, taking a deep breath, afterward opening her eyes very slowly, glancing up to the heavens. “At least I managed a few hours.”
Shifting her weight to the left, she grabbed a handful of sand from the beach, lifting her hand to let the sand run through. She watched for a moment, deep in thought. Thoughts of the past.. her eyes drifted to the slender hand holding the sand. She pressed her lips together and shook her head.
This was going to be a long night.
