Ariir awoke to the refreshing scent of earth, as he stood he felt a slight popping from the stiffness in his back . "Where am I?", he asks himself slowly searching his mind for help recalling his location, there was none to be found. As a matter of fact the more he searched the recesses of his mind the more he found wanting, no memories burst forth to answer his question. Ariir looked around taking in his surroundings for the first time, the smell of the earth and trees gave him a small sense of comfort and the slight gust of wind felt more welcoming than his own blue-gray skin. In his mind's eye a word came struggling forth unwilling to be dragged down to the bottomless pit that was his mind, "Forest." He said out loud the name bringing a warmth to his skin that his meager frayed clothing could not. Silent footsteps approached softly as Ariir's ears perked pointedly in the direction of the sound. "So, you have awaken" a gruff voice said. "I am Conservator Ilthalaine welcome to Shadowglen." Ariir's mouth became a dam shoring up the questions waiting to break free all at once. "There was some who thought that you would not wake, I was not among them" the Conservator said. "You have a strong spirit even if your body was weakened."
"Who....who am I" Ariir asked softly, a slight chuckle rumble from the conservators lips "that my friend i can't not tell you for I do not know you were found 3 days ago by a hunter on the road from Dolanaar, our healer did their best and yet it was uncertain if you would survive." Ariir listened quietly as the Conservator continued, "I have brought your belongings the are on the pedestal next to you perhaps they can give you answers I cannot." Ariir looked on the pedestal and saw a wooden bow and an old but sharp dagger next to them a lay a small cloth with a split skull insignia and an empty backpack, when Ariir picked up the bow and dagger they both felt familiar to his hands however the cloth did not he put it away and holstered the weapons saddened that the items gave little in the way of answers and many more questions. "I must go to Dolanaar"
He said "perhaps someone there will recognize me" or this cloth."
"Here, take this flask for water." Ilthalaine replied "our grounds are small but fertile we have a few traders and the forest provides what we need, I would invite you to stay with us but you would only decline however you may hunt on our grounds to prepare for your journey, may the peace of Shadowglen be with always." Ariir nodded As the Conservator walked away thinking on what to do next one thing was true though he did have a mission now and with that a purpose.
