It felt like she had been run over by at least three consecutive herds of kodo. The air was heavy and thick, sweat was pouring off her green flesh like some unseen person was at her continuously with hot water in a spray bottle.
The orcess groaned. It sounded akin to a naga's death rattle, stirring deep in her throat...wet and sickly.
Carefully she peeled open one eye. Her eyelashes had been almost glued together it seemed so it took a good amount of effort. The amber orb rolled in the socket slowly, the world around her a blurry mass of indiscernible shapes and colors. The scent in the air was sour, dusty, and rich with sweat and the lingering after aroma of sex and booze.
Eventually, the world crept back into focus. She found she was buck naked, laying mostly on the floor its wooden surface offering no reprieve from the heat, her legs still on the bed.
Tentatively she tried moving a toe. It responded after a moment giving the rest of her body hints to try to start twitching as well. Each movement caused the woman to groan as if she were on her last bits of life. There was a dull thud as her legs slipped sideways off the bed and onto the floor, the sound punctuated with a passionate string of curses.
After the cursing finally died away one may see Kat's arms pop out of apparently no where and grasp onto the side of the bed, clinging like it was the only piece of driftwood from a sinking ship. Carefully she hauled herself onto the bed, muscles trembling. She didn't stop her efforts until she was laying spread eagle, feet sticking off one side, her head hanging off the other.
"Oh good you're alive. Was starting to worry i'd have to get someone in here to haul the body out," a high pitched grating voice said, "corpses tend to drive away business. Get your things and get out, there are paying customers who want to use the room."
With a great effort Kat raised her head and peered through her tangled mass of hair to catch the backside of a goblin as he ambled away.
"F*ck me...." she moaned slowly sitting up, now able to look around.
The room looked as if a gnome punting team of tauren had been playing the game in the small area. The second bed was on its side against the wall, straw mattress ripped to shreds. The first bed that she happened to be on was shoved at an uneven angle, mattress in no better shape then one may find in a Vrykul's home. Tables and chairs were broken, there was a smear of candle wax across one of the walls with the nub of the candle frozen in time in the center.
Blinking blearily, Kat noticed the sheet which still clung to the end of the bed was torn and stained with blood. Peeking over the side, she noticed the floor littered with empty bottles of cherry grog- some smashed some not.
Kat grunted, "Huh, musta been a f*cking good night." It was a shame she couldn't remember a thing. She was sure the goblin who was talking to her earlier would though. Perhaps he could also tell her where her clothes were, since they didn't seem to be anywhere.
The goblin, Innkeeper Skindle, sighed and shook his head as he was wiping down the bar counter. It sounded as if there was a wounded elekk tromping around upstairs.
He braced himself as he caught sight of the orcess- naked, stalking along on the upper level, making her way down to him. He got a small amount of amusement watching her try to navigate her way down the stairs eventually falling ass over kettle down the remaining five. She landed with a heavy thud against the wall and stayed there for a good two minutes rubbing her head.
"Look, just get up and get out. Customers will be coming along soon, and the sight of you i don't think i'd even get five coppers for." Skindle sighed, her beady eyes swiveling around his establishment again just to make sure no one else was indeed around for the show.
Kat was on her feet again, staggering over to lean heavily on the bar. "i just want me sh*t and i'll be outta here." She smelt like the inside of a grog bottle.
The goblin subtly reached under his bar for a thick club that resembled a base ball bat as he spoke to her, "Aint nothing down here, toots. If whatever you're looking for aint in your room, then it's gone. Simple."
"GONE!?" the orcess had grabbed him with such speed it defied all laws of someone with a hangover. Her hand was wrapped securely in the front of his shirt, lifting him neatly off the floor. He was so startled he dropped his bat upon the floor, and when she jerked his face into hers he didn't know if he'd pass out from the fright or the smell. "WHAT do ye mean...GONE!? Do ye have ANY idea the sh*t i had on me!?"
She didn't seem to care Skindle looked ready to pass out, the only thing she could think of was the mounting possibility whoever had been with her last night had robbed her blind. Not only had they taken her clothes but her KEYS!! Keys to her bank, the gang's bank...
The orcess paled and dropped the goblin who was quick to retrieve his bat. He brandished it as menacingly as he could over his knocking knees. "Get out of my bar!" he screamed drawing the attention of the bouncers. Three of them came running down to his aid, though skittered to a halt falling over themselves at the sight of Skindle brandishing his bat and the clearly beaten and battered orcess staggering backward away from him.
"You uh, sure you need us boss?" one of them ventured with wide eyes.
All...gone. Kat's head swam. She had no idea who she was with to have taken her stuff, and she had a sinking feeling that since her keys were gone, they must have also hit the bank which wasn't far away. "F*ck me sideways..." she mumbled holding her head. There was no way the gang would let her live this one down.
"GETOUTGETOUT!" Skindle shrieked swinging the bat in the air. "Get her OUT!"
The bouncers nodded and lept forward, surrounding the disorientated orcess. They corralled her and shoved her none too gently out the door. As she went sprawling, she spun around and called to their retreating forms, "Hold it! i'm uh...gonna need to report a robbery..."
