December 14
As my brother always said, “The Kaldorei never forget - and rarely forgive.”
Damn him for being right!
Damn him for leaving me to assume the responsibilities he could so easily shirk!
Even now, as I wipe the spittle from the lips of our father, I can do naught but curse the one who by his very departure imprisoned me. More than that, I curse the fact that I continue to waste emotion on him…that his selfish actions liberated him but continue to consume me.
I am not the optimist my father is…WAS.
He is not much of anything these days - his wits abandoning him as effortlessly as my brother did, so many years ago.
So this is what becomes of an altruistic man who dedicates his life to peace? Yes, Father…you gave everything to the cause and are left with NOTHING, bereft of even your precious memories! An important lesson this; one I will not soon forget.
All is undone now.
The emergence of the Naga presence on Vas’jir has rekindled old prejudices, and once again our history - our shame - haunts us...
They have begun to whisper… ‘The high elves - are they not the descendants of those treacherous highborne loyalists of Queen Azshara - might they have a hand in this?’
See Father. Outcasts we are, and outcasts we shall always be.
Subtlety is lost on them; Alliance and Horde, alike.
Perhaps, it is time for a different approach.
